





























Charles Luedtke Wood Sculpture
Chip carved wood sculpture by Charles Luedtke. Unsigned but acquired from the artist’s estate.
A native of Wisconsin, Charles Luedtke moved to Coronado In 1956. His main interest is sculpture, both wood and welded metals, but he also paints in oil, watercolor and encaustic. Luedtke received his B.F.A. from the Layton School of Art in Milwaukee, and an M.S. in Art Education from the University of Wisconsin. He has exhibited widely in Wisconsin and California, New York and Florida and is represented in private collections around the country. In 1963 Luedtke was Commissioned to create the 9′ altar cross and candleholders for St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Coronado, Calif.
