A pair of wire and mesh candle holders designed by Archie Kaplan for New Dimensions.
Archie was born in Connecticut, but spent his adult life in New York. He had no formal design training. He was in the Army and stationed on Okinawa during WWII, and said he was influenced by Japanese architecture and landscaping.
After the war, he started Designed for Moderns. At some point, The company’s name was changed to New Dimensions. Sol Bloom and Seymour Robins also designed for the company. More about Archie Kaplan can be found here.
