Serge Ivan Chermayeff (1900–1996) was a Russian (Chechen)-born architect, industrial designer, and writer who significantly influenced urban planning and design education in the 20th century. Born in Grozny, Russia, Chermayeff moved to England as a child, where he received his education. He began his career as an interior and industrial designer.

In 1933, he formed a short but influential architectural partnership with Erich Mendelsohn. Their work includes the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-Sea,.

Chermayeff immigrated to the United States in 1939. He served as president of the Institute of Design in Chicago and later chaired the architecture departments at both Harvard and Yale. His design work for L. Anton Maix happened between 1950 and 1955.
